After having been Benelux-correspondent for the German economic and financial daily Handelsblatt for 14 years, she has been working as independent journalist since 2004, covering Sustainable Finance and Sustainability Management. She is based in Berlin / Germany.

Between 2008 and 2024 she has been responsible for developing, organising, financing and writing the monthly German magazine Handelsblatt Business Briefing Sustainable Investments informing institutional investors, financial professionals and companies.

Since 2021 Susanne Bergius is contributing to the weekly Tagesspiegel Background Finanzen & Sustainabilityas editor. The publication is dedicated to national and international sustainability regulation for capital markets and corporates and elaborates how financial actors manage ESG risks and opportunities.

Susanne Bergius has published several books on CSR, Sustainable and Responsible Investment, CFOs as well as on the role of finance and companies to protect nature capital: biodiversity and ecosystem services. She won several awards for her journalistic work on sustainability.
