Planet Action Partner

Planet Action Partner of the European Sustainability Week 2026
Sustainability, like the European Sustainability Week itself, is ultimately a team effort. The European Sustainability Week 2026 is supported by its Planet Action Partners Active Giving GmbH and ImpactHero GmbH.
Active Giving GmbH
Active Giving is a mobile health and fitness platform that converts physical activity—such as running, walking, cycling, or working out—into real-world environmental and social impact.
The European Sustainability Week 2026 opened a community challenge on this app, the ESW 2026 by EUPD Group team. All activities tracked with the AG app or entered manually with the AG app or synched from Strava will go towards the ESW 2026 by EUPD Group team for each member of the team. The EUPD Group invites all participants of the European Sustainability Week 2026 to join the team.
Supported project
Coastal Kelp in British Columbia
The ESW 2026 by EUPD Group team will support is Coastal Kelp in British Columbia (through Active Giving's verification partner Veritree). It is dedicated to uniting resources for the vital mission of protecting and reforesting the oceans. By prioritising Indigenous partnerships, they honour traditional knowledge while working collaboratively to restore balance to marine ecosystems. Coastal Kelp's commitment extends beyond conservation; they aim to foster economic opportunities through sustainable aquaculture, ensuring that the health of the oceans benefits both the environment and local communities. Together, veritree and Coastal Kelp are working to create a thriving future for the oceans and those who depend on them.
Globally, over 40 percent of kelp forests have declined over the past five decades as a result of climate change, overexploitation, and pollution. Kelp restoration enhances ocean health by providing essential habitats for marine life and boosting biodiversity. Kelp forests support cleaner, more resilient marine ecosystems. Seaforestation is an emerging conservation strategy focused on the restoration and cultivation of underwater seagrass and kelp forests in marine environments. This approach aims to bolster marine ecosystems by planting and nurturing these underwater plants, which play a vital role in:
- 01Water quality
- 02Marine habitat
- 03Ocean health
Please note that activities will only count towards the ESW team's impact if participants have joined the team and remain part of it. Activities will be counted from November 16, 2026, to December 9, 2026, with the team's total impact capped at 2026 kelp restored.
Impact Hero GmbH

Impact Hero is a Berlin-based impact-tech company that helps businesses achieve and communicate positive impact through integrating impact products such as tree-planting, plastic collection and coral reef restoration into their business & engaging key stakeholders. GROW MY TREE is an initiative of Impact Hero spearheading their tree-planting projects.
Through Impact Hero’s partnership with European Sustainability Week 2026, one tree will be planted for every attendee across Impact Hero’s partner projects in Senegal, Tanzania, Kenya, and India.
Trees provide vital habitats for wildlife, prevent soil erosion, improve air quality, and help regulate the global climate. They also support healthy local microclimates and water cycles, creating the foundations for thriving biodiversity.
Beyond their environmental benefits, tree-growing initiatives create sustainable income opportunities through nursery management, planting, tending, and monitoring, with women particularly benefiting from these initiatives. By supporting education and strengthening financial independence, these initiatives also help reduce the economic pressures that can drive illegal logging.
