Michael supports the management team of United Sustainability as an Advisory Partner in the fund’s investment process and investor acquisition.

Michael has around 30 years of investment experience and works independently as a Senior Advisor and Lecturer in Strategy, Investments, Sustainability, e.g. for the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He also serves on the supervisory boards of the asset management companies Anthos Fund & Asset Management B.V. and LAIQON AG (formerly Lloyd Fonds AG), where he previously held the position of Chief Investment Officer on the executive board.

He is actively engaged as a member of the board of DVFA e.V. and as deputy chair of the Standards Committee Finance (NaFin) at DIN e.V.

In earlier roles, Michael was part of the executive boards of Deka Investment and Union Investment, leading investment teams and advising institutional clients, after having worked in Deutsche Bank’s asset management division as an analyst, portfolio manager, and team leader in equities.

In his commitment to sustainable finance, he also served as Managing Director of the Green and Sustainable Finance Cluster Germany, as a member of the DHL Group’s Sustainability Advisory Council, as a member of the German Federal Government’s Sustainable Finance Advisory Committee, and as a member of the EU Commission’s High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance (HLEG).

He has been speaking and publishing for many years on capital markets and investment topics, corporate strategy and governance, as well as sustainable finance.

Michael is a qualified banker, holds a master’s degree in finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, and is a CFA charterholder.
