Since 2025, Max Koentopp has served as Global Business Segment Manager for PV Power Plants at TÜV Rheinland Solar GmbH, overseeing global services for photovoltaic power plants, including ESG and traceability, supply chain services, technical due diligence, and field inspections and assessments.

Previously, Max Koentopp held several leadership roles at Hanwha Qcells GmbH, most recently as Director of Global R&D Test Labs and Analytical Services (2014–2025), where he was responsible for reliability testing, product qualification, characterization, and production measurement. Prior to that, he worked as Senior Manager for R&D Analysis & Modeling (2012–2014) and as Simulation Expert and Project Manager at Q CELLS SE (2009–2012).

Max Koentopp holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Diplom) in Physics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and conducted postdoctoral research at Princeton University, Rutgers University, and Columbia University.
