Erich Maurer is working for the Energy Agency of Northern Bavaria (Nuremberg and Kulmbach) as CEO since 2011. The energy agency is responsible for the Metropolitan region of Nuremberg with 3.5 Mio. inhabitants. The main purpose is to implement and to realize strategies for the public authorities for a sustaina-ble energy transition. From 1997 to 2011 he worked for different similar agencies all over Germany. 1996 and 1997 he started his work experience in Indonesia and Bolivia in different renewable energy projects of the German development agency GTZ. From 1990 to 1996 he studied Industrial Engineer at the Technical University of Karlsruhe.
