Andrea Sternisko is a Partner at KPMG Germany of the firm’s Regulatory Advisory practice and serves as Sector Lead for Life Sciences and Chemicals. With over 25 years of experience spanning Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands, she plays a key role in shaping ESG strategy and regulatory compliance within the global KPMG network. She holds multiple roles within the KPMG network, driving innovation in ESG strategy, regulatory compliance, and cross-border reporting frameworks.

Andrea has a financial reporting background, specializing in IFRS, US GAAP, and national accounting standards with a strong expertise in complex accounting, enforcement, and compliance matters, supporting multinational clients navigating financial metrics, internal controls, and risk management.

With the evolving ESG regulatory landscape she combines her financial and corporate reporting expertise with ESG reporting, advising clients on the implementation of ESG reporting standards, like CSRD, ESRS, ISSB and GRI and supporting organizations to align financial and non-financial disclosures with evolving regulations. Her work has influenced corporate approaches to Corporate reporting, ESG reporting, EU Taxonomy, Green Bonds, and ESG ratings, while advancing the digitalization of reporting processes.

A former member of the EFRAG Administrative Board and a leader within the ESRS Secretariat, Andrea has helped shape Europe’s sustainability reporting framework. She is also a university lecturer and published author on financial and ESG reporting.
