Dr. Andreas Piepenbrink is CEO of HagerEnergy and Vice President Energy Management Solutions at Hager. He studied Electrical Engineering and holds a PhD in Control Engineering.

With extensive leadership experience across the automotive, electronics and energy industries, Dr. Piepenbrink has held senior management positions at companies including Kostal Elektronik, ZF Friedrichshafen and Karmann, where he was responsible for areas ranging from manufacturing automation and transmission hydraulics to electronics and engineering management. He also spent seven years at Dover Technologies Corporation as Global Head of Electronics at Multitest in Rosenheim.

For the past 15 years, Dr. Piepenbrink has played a key role in the development of E3/DC, which he founded in 2010 and which has been part of HagerEnergy since 2018. Today, HagerEnergy employs around 350 people and generates approximately €200 million in sales across charging, energy storage and metering solutions, serving around 180,000 customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and the Netherlands.

Under his leadership, the company develops integrated home energy solutions combining photovoltaics, battery storage, AI-based 360° energy management, and AC and bidirectional charging solutions for residential and semi-public applications. Dr. Piepenbrink is widely regarded as a leading expert in stationary battery storage and sector coupling between residential energy systems and electric mobility.
